Install Lumen and connect your AI

Set up the studio once. After this, a new video is a sentence and a click.

The steps

  1. Install the tools Lumen drives. Lumen needs Node.js 20 or later and FFmpeg on your computer. Both are free.
  2. Install Lumen. Run the installer from the Download page. On Windows, SmartScreen may warn about a new app: choose More info, then Run anyway.
  3. Open Connections. The Connections page lists every engine and shows what is installed, signed in and ready.
  4. Sign in to your AI. Install Claude Code or Codex and sign in from your own terminal. Lumen runs that tool and never sees your password. An Anthropic or OpenAI API key works too.
  5. Pick a voice. Paste an ElevenLabs or Fish Audio key, or use a local voice on an NVIDIA GPU.

Worth knowingThe line at the bottom of the sidebar shows your AI engine and its version. Green means ready.
